Wassily Chair B3 Blue

This poster celebrates an icon of modernist design: the Wassily Chair, Model B3, designed by the renowned architect and designer Marcel Breuer in 1925-1926. The poster depicts the famous chair in a minimalist and bold style, with its characteristic contours highlighted in a strong blue against a light beige background. This simple yet striking colour choice emphasises the chair's geometric forms and refined lines, underlining the modern and timeless aesthetic for which the Wassily Chair is known.

The chair's history is fascinating. It was originally designed for Breuer's friend and colleague, the famous Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, who also inspired the chair's name. Breuer took inspiration from bicycle handlebars when developing the chair, leading to the use of bent steel tubing, a new and innovative technique at the time. This revolutionised furniture design by combining lightness with strength, making the Wassily Chair a landmark of modern furniture art and one of the best-known works of the Bauhaus movement.

This poster captures the essence of the pioneering design. With its clear lines and graphic simplicity, it is not only a tribute to the chair but also a stylish addition to any home. The poster works both as art and as a subtle reference to the history of modernist design. It is ideal for interior enthusiasts, design lovers and anyone seeking a piece of art that conveys elegance, innovation and timelessness.
