Original Soutine gallery poster. “Soutine Woman In Pink" is part of Postershop's new original Soutine art collection. This poster series presents numerous works by the artist Chaïm Soutine. Soutine twisted the form of his female subject into a swirling mass of red, coral and yellow brushstrokes that fills most of the canvas to its edges. The gold chair bends as well, echoing the woman's pliable body. The work dates from 1924. Chaïm Soutine was a Jewish Expressionist painter from Belarus, then part of the Russian Empire. Soutine studied for three years at an art school in Vilnius; in 1913 he emigrated to Paris, where he met Marc Chagall, Amedeo Modigliani and Jacques Lipchitz and attended the École des Beaux-Arts.
