In the spring of 1945, the Netherlands was struck by a catastrophic famine - the "Hongerwinter" - following the German occupation's blockade of supplies. Denmark was quick to send aid. This poster shows a Danish ship heading for the Netherlands with the Dannebrog and the Dutch flag side by side - an image of solidarity between two countries that had both lived under Nazi occupation and were now meeting in the spirit of reconstruction.
We produce every poster on demand to avoid unnecessary overproduction and waste.
