One of the final posters designed by Poul Jørgensen (1882-1941) during his many years as a poster artist for Copenhagen Zoo. The poster shows a new generation of giraffes that were among the zoo's major attractions in the summer of 1939. Copenhagen Zoo was founded in 1859, and the oldest surviving poster in the zoo's collection dates from 1874. From around 1900, the zoo consistently used the leading poster artists of the day to promote newly arrived animals and events.
We produce every poster on demand to avoid unnecessary overproduction and waste.
