"Det lyder som et eventyr" is the title of this reunification poster from 1920 - drawn by Joakim Skovgaard and featuring words from Henrik Pontoppidan's poem "Sønderjylland". The poster marks the historic plebiscite in Schleswig that, after the First World War, determined that northern Schleswig should return to Denmark. Pontoppidan's words about reunification and Skovgaard's image helped set the tone for an event that many Danes experienced as a true fairy tale.
